It was so exciting to announce RJ's soon arrival to everyone. We were so happy to be home and to see and chat with everyone in person. He's 20 weeks now and I can feel him kicking about--very exciting. Here is his face in profile. He has such a button nose, just like Charlie Brown. You can also see his hand up by his eye and his big belly. During the sonogram each time the tech was about to measure something, he'd squirm--she got quite frustrated with him. Then I had a cough attack and so RJ and I were not her favorite pair that day. It was such a delight to watch him wiggle, twist, kick, and stretch. Rhett and I were both just grinning at the monitor the whole time. After in the car, we discussed how funny it is that we were just thrilled, thinking how adorable our alien looking fetus is. For my birthday Rhett got me a glider/rocker. We keep it in the family room in front of the TV because we really don't have a nursery and our couch is so crappy that it a detriment to Rhett's back because that's where he studies all day. I was excited about that. We also were able to bring back with us a whole suitcase of boys clothes 0-3month from Rhett's sister Kristi. We're totally set up with clothes we'll need during our time in Missouri before we will move, so that's been a blessing to be able to borrow.
Here is another sonogram, RJ has both hands by his face and the black oval is his open mouth. Everything is going well. We are officially half way to parenthood! It is a humbling and exciting prospect. We wish we lived closer so you could see him when he's born, but it will be great to move next July--and he'll only be 3 months old so you can still see him tiny. We're glad you all know now! It was a long time to hold in such great news for us, but it should be a short pregnancy for everyone!
